Language points

“Have/has sb.ever+過(guò)去分詞”，用于詢(xún)問(wèn)某人過(guò)去的經(jīng)歷。
e.g.--Have you ever been to Paris?
--No,never./Yes,I have.
--你去過(guò)巴黎嗎？--沒(méi)有/去過(guò)。
4.But I can't afford it.但是我付不起。
afford（有財(cái)力）付得起，買(mǎi)得起
常與can，could，able to連用。
e.g.I just can't afford the time.
我花不起這個(gè)時(shí)間。
We can't afford to buy such an expensive car.我們買(mǎi)不起這么昂貴的汽車(chē)。
Afford可以帶雙賓語(yǔ)，或不定式。一般只能用于抽象事物，還可以特指經(jīng)濟(jì)能力。指“供給”，或能“付出”一定的時(shí)間，在這種意義上，只能接在can或be able to之后。
supply:
供給，供應(yīng)，提供(+to/for/with)
We supply power to the three nearby towns.
我們對(duì)附近的三個(gè)城鎮(zhèn)提供電力。
offer：
1.給予，提供；拿出，出示(+to) 2.意愿；試圖(做某事)[+to-v]
He offeres to lend me some books.
他表示要借給我?guī)妆緯?shū)。
provide:
1.提供[(+for)]2.裝備，供給[(+with)]3.規(guī)定[(+that)]
Somehow she managed to provide her children with food and clothing.
她總算設(shè)法使她的孩子有飯吃，有衣穿。
5.I've stopped trying now.我已經(jīng)不再?lài)L試了。
stop doing sth.表示“停止正在做的事情”
stop to do sth.表示“停下來(lái)去做另件事”。
e.g.The two girls stopped talking when they saw me.
那兩個(gè)女孩一見(jiàn)到我就停止了講話(huà)。
The two girls stopped to talk to me when they saw me.
那兩個(gè)女孩一見(jiàn)到我就停下來(lái)和我講話(huà)。
6.That's a pity.很遺憾！
pity表示“遺憾，可惜”。
That's a pity =It is a pity.=What a pity!
7.You can make it up.你可以遍（一個(gè)故事）。
make up 表示“編造；組成”。
e.g.The whole story is made up.
整個(gè)故事是虛構(gòu)出來(lái)的。
