2.Rewrite the inverted sentence using normal word order.用正常語(yǔ)序改定這些倒裝句。
normal 正常的;常態(tài)的;一般的

go ahead 是口語(yǔ)中一個(gè)十分有用的表達(dá)。歸納起來,它在中學(xué)英語(yǔ)中有以下3種用法。
1)表示同意或允許
表示同意對(duì)方的請(qǐng)求,根據(jù)情況可譯為;說吧,做吧,開始吧,進(jìn)行吧。如:
A:May i start?B:Yes,go ahead.好,開始吧。
A:Will you do me a favour?
B:Go ahead.說吧。
A:Do you mind if I smoke?B:No,go ahead.
A:Can i borrow your dictionary?
B:Yes,go ahead.
2)表示繼續(xù)或持續(xù)
表示請(qǐng)對(duì)方繼續(xù)說、繼續(xù)做等,通常可譯為:
繼續(xù).....吧。如:
Go ahead,we're al listening.
繼續(xù)講吧,我們都在聽說呢!
Go ahead,what are you witing for?
往前走呀,你在等什么?
3)表示請(qǐng)對(duì)方生走或先做某事其意為:你先走一步,你先請(qǐng)。如:
You go ahead and tell him that we're coming.
你先走一步,告訴他我們就來。
Go ahead,please.你先請(qǐng)(勸別人先吃或先走等的客套說法)。
4.set to work=get/settle down to work 開始工作
set to sth/doing sth.開始做某事=get down to sth/doing sth
1)As soon as i got home,I set to preparing supper.
2)They'll set to the project,as soon as it is approved.
Look forward to....devote....to....
be/get used to.....lead to....
prefer......to.....pay attention to..... object to....
5.Although he realized the man had been lying.Zhou Yang knew he must not accuse him directly.
盡管他意識(shí)到那個(gè)人一直在說謊話,但周陽(yáng)懂得,他決不能直接指責(zé)那個(gè)人。
had been doing 為過去完成進(jìn)行時(shí),表示從過去的某一個(gè)時(shí)間點(diǎn)開始某事一直持續(xù)到過去的某個(gè)時(shí)間點(diǎn)并且仍在執(zhí)行。
I had been looking for my bike for days before i found it.
6.The first person who saw his article was a senior editor from his department
看他這篇報(bào)道的第一個(gè)人是他們部里的一們高級(jí)編輯。
senior年長(zhǎng)的(級(jí)別,職位,資格)較高的,高年級(jí)的(作定語(yǔ))
7.....to the native speaker employed by the newspaper to polish the style
.....給一位母語(yǔ)為英語(yǔ)的外國(guó)雇員,請(qǐng)她對(duì)語(yǔ)言風(fēng)格進(jìn)行潤(rùn)飾。
employ雇傭;使用;花時(shí)間
The firm employs about 100 men.

8.The chief editor read it and approved it chief 最重要的,主要的,最高權(quán)威的。
辨析:chief,principal 和major
chief主要的,首要的指人時(shí)表示地位高、權(quán)力大,指物時(shí)表示重要。
principal首要的,主要的,正式使用語(yǔ)言由于某重要性而具有首要的地位。
major主要的,首要的,指與他物相對(duì)比時(shí)突出顯赫的地位。
9.All the information was then ready to be processed.
所有的報(bào)道材料就要被制成膠片。
process加工(食品等)沖洗
one has to process a film to print pictures.
必須先處理底片才能沖印出相片。處理;小心準(zhǔn)備;仔細(xì)檢查

10.appointment任命,職位,約會(huì)
make/fix an appointment與某人約會(huì)
take an appointment 就職
